Health and fitness:If we say that someone is healthy, do we mean that he or she has no desease or illness? The answer is NO. The word Health, in its broader sense,does not only refer to a persons’s good physical condition, but signifies the qualitative as well as quantitative aspects of the person as a whole.
I know a lady who is physically fit but has the habit of lying to everyone and and taking pride in her deeds in front of others as if other people know nothing. Would you call her healthy? No she is not psychologically healthy.
Thus, health means the complete state of an individual’s physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Physical health means that all the organs of the body are in their actual place and position, coordinating with each other, and doing their physiological tasks properly. That means staying absolutely fit is a sign of good health. But no, there is a fault in it. There is no individual who can stay absolutely fit. Having cold, coughs, stomach disorder, or any minor illness often is actually the sign of good health, and is also a necessity for the growth of our immune power.

Mental health means an individual’s ability to think, judge, understand, recall, in short, the intellectual and reasoning ability
. There are many people who the have the having forgetting things. We can find such ladies around us who, after getting their houses locked, keep on checking the locks again and again. There are many children who, even after having got byheart their lessons, forget very quickly. That means everybody doesnot have hundred percent sound mental health.
Thus, mental health refers to the ability to perceive things in a general sense, understanding someone or somethings as the person or the things is, reasonal ability to distinguish between good and bad, or right or wrong, the ability to remember and recall things, the ability to communicate verbally, and understand the social system or phonomena considered from the point of view of the whole.
Emotional health means whether an individual is mentally and emotionally fit or not. Our brain regulates all our mental and emotional functions, so these two are co-related. People having psychological disorder are not mentally and emotionally healthy.
We all know that exercise can help improve our health, both physically and mentally. Whether we want to feel better and relaxed, be more energized, or increase our age, exercise is very essential. Whatever age, sex or physical ability a person may be of, adding little bit of exercise to our daily routine can make us happier and healthier.
Firstly, exercise helps in controlling weight gain or weight loss, because the more we engage in physical activities or exercises, the more calories we burn. In order to get the benefits of exercise, it is not necessary to do work outs or jogging everyday, rather only indulging ourselves in more physical activites or taking stairs instead of lift, or walking in the morning or evening can be fruitful.
Exercise also helps us in fighting against several diseases. IF we want to prevent high blood presssure, we should be engaged in physical activities which increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or “good” cholesterol, and decreases unhealthy triglycerides. This process keeps the blood flowing soothly, which decreases the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Moreover, doctors also advise regular exercise to people suffering from type 2 diabetes, stroke,hypertension, arthritis, various types of cancer, depression, and many other diseases.
Exercises also refreshes us mentally. If we feel depressed or stressed, doing meditation, or a little bit of exercise, or a walk in fresh air in the morning can make us happier, energetic and relaxed. Not only exercise refreshes our mood, but also makes us feel young, makes us sleep better at, sharpen our memory, raises our confidence, makes us gaining apositive attitude towards ourselves and our lives, and improves our self-esteem. It a also a very useful medicine for fighting against many common mental health challenges.
Researches have proved that regular exercise can help us overcome mild to moderate depresssion, and can also prevent us from falling ill mentally and committing any error.

The function of the brain is to exert centralized control over the other organs of the body. Exercise increases the heart rate, which pumps more oxygen to the brain. Exercise stimulates the brain plasticity by stimulating growth of new connections between cells of the brain. In short, exercise revitalizes us.
That is why, men live long as compared to women, since men indulge themselves in more physical activities than women. The components of brain executive central command include working memory, planning, scheduling, multitasking and dealing with ambiguity (e.g., such as doubt and uncertainty). These components decline with age, That is why, children have sharp memory, good eyesight, better cognitive power as compared to old people, because children participate in more physical activities like outdoor games, school sports, swimming, dancing, etc than aged people can do. Studies show that outdoor activities help in reducing the symptoms of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), most commonly found in children and to some extent in adults, can be reduced through regular exercise only.
Research shows that getting outside and spending time in nature can calm some kids with ADHD, instead of just cycling, bike riding, swimming, dancing, playing soccer.
Like it is very important for an individual to stay healthy, similarly, it is very important for a nation to remain healthy or free from all kinds ill-activities and nuisances. Only people with sound physical, mental and emotional health can cope with the unhealthy environment, and can also contribute to make a physically and mentally healthy nation.
