iPhone 7 processor-generation AX processor-TSMC and Samsung are the suppliers


The iPhone 7 will come with a new Apple A10 processor which will apparently be exclusively made by TSMC for Apple.TSMC is to become the sole supplier for the next generation AX processor in the upcoming iPhone 7.TSMC’s Q3 earnings teleconference revealed a great deal about its partnership with Apple.TSM’s future growth is very much tied to AAPL.Apple’s future competitive.

TSMC will make all of the microprocessors for the iPhone 7 that is due to debut in 2016 using its 16nm FinFET manufacturing process.According to the report, TSMC won the contract with Apple over Samsung due to its more efficient 10nm manufacturing process, and is expected to go in full production in June. Both TSMC and Samsung are the suppliers for the A9 processor in the iPhone 6s. Unfortunately for Samsung, users noticed differences in heating and battery life between the chipsets from the two companies, with the TSMC one coming out the better of the two.Both Samsung and TSMC are making the A9 chip for Apple And the Samsung version is smaller than the TSMC.The world’s largest chip fab and a manufacturer of Apple’s A9 chips used in iPhone 7 models.

TSMC was the world’s first dedicated semiconductor foundry and has long been the leading company in its space.This wouldn’t be the first time Apple went with just TSMC. After a long time of relying on Samsung to supply its chips, Apple switched to TSMC for the A8 and A8X, and even the A9 would have been made entirely by TSMC had Samsung not stolen TSMC’s trade secrets, which is said to have helped the company get the contract with Apple.Apple iPhone 7  powered by the TSMC version of the A9 would provide 1 hour and 5 minutes more battery life.
