Skype Universal Windows Platform app
Microsoft now said to release a version of its unified Skype Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app in preview form to Windows Insiders soon. This app ultimately will replace the current unified Win32 Skype desktop application.
Skype Universal app for Windows 10 and the new Universal Windows Platform apps, it is the first development efforts come from the US tech lead itself. It is meny features as a quick reminder, theory, the code running on both the PC and the mobile environments should be identical with a self-adapting interface.
Microsoft is once again changing the process Skype is being offered to users on its modern platforms and instead of integrating the client into the Messaging app, thay are planning to release a universal app that would work on both PCs and mobile devices.
Skype told that user should expect all of the Skype functionality to migrate into the UWP app, although the existing apps will remain for an undisclosed amount of time.
Video chats and messaging is very fast with ths app. Microsoft began the separate UWP transition process in November with what it called consumer preview of Skype integration which is integrated the both two key Skype functions, video and messaging, into two distinct apps: Skype Video and Skype Messenger, as part of a Windows 10 update.
Microsoft now plan that allow Windows 10 Mobile users to also run the coming unified Skype UWP app at some point.
